My doula journey began when a friend asked me to support her at her first birth because I'd "be calm under pressure."
It is extremely rare that a doula enters this job without her own children first, but that is exactly what I did! Unlike most doulas, I did not become a doula in order to "fix" or "save" woman from my own birth experience. My agenda is to learn your preferences and help you attain your goals for birth.
My unique skills in biblical counseling color my courses with an emphasis on information processing & decision-making in light of foundational biblical themes and principles.
I often use the tagline, "someone will choose, shouldn't it be you" as the birthing woman and parent(s)?
