We envision every Christian woman experiencing birth in a way that honors her unique preferences, surrounded by a supportive atmosphere where everyone present is attentive to her focus and follows her lead as she surrenders to the powerful, God-designed process of birth.
To partner with Christian women who feel a lack of control over decisions about their bodies during pregnancy to reclaim confidence and autonomy. We equip Birth Partners with the skills to be present in labor in an impactful & meaningful way. Through compassionate guidance and faith-centered support, we help create the foundation for a spiritually transformative and confident birth experience.

Pocket Doula Birth Prep is perfect for Christian women who desire to remove confusion & helplessness in them AND their Birth Partner(s), teaching you how to problem solve from a biblical lens. Birth partners are equipped to actually help in each stage of labor.

Labor support is specific to moments of decision such as,
...are we ready to go to the hospital?...is this the right or wrong intervention for me?...can you remind me how to breathe & move when I push? or something previously discussed in virtual 1:1s.
No, that's called Childbirth Education. Biblical Birth Prep is different because is that it is practical, usable & skills-based knowledge. Yes, it is FULL of info, but only what's pertinent to getting you safely and confidently through pregnancy, labor & pushing (or cesareans) in a faith-forward way!
No. This course is like the bones of your birth "body" (key elements that make birth possible). You make it move with your particular "muscles" (preferences & needs).
*It is imperative that ALL women learn the physiologic process of labor & pushing! In addition, women must learn when an intervention helps progress your labor OR disrupts labor progress. This is because "caesarean section rates higher than 10% are not associated with reductions in maternal and newborn mortality rates" (WHO Statement on Cesarean Section Rates, June 9, 2021). Unfortunately, the U.S. has an average 1st-time cesarean section rate of 32.1% (JAMA Health Forum, July 12, 2022). My students can avoid being one of these unnecessary cesarean statistics with adequate prep!
Pocket Doula Birth Prep can be as interactive as you choose!
In the GoKollab app you have access to your Pocket Doula Birth Prep Course, the CCBirth Online Community and the BONUS Pocket Doula Tips Series.
- In the CCBirth Online Community you can engage with other students at various stages of pregnancy to encourage each other.
- In Pocket Doula Tips Series I have topical videos 2-5 mins long where I answer pregnancy, labor or postpartum-related questions for you. This is not medical advice but "couch conversation tips" from your doula's 12+ years of birth work. These are added as YOU ask questions...so it will grow as the Pocket Doula grows!
- Qs for your instructor can be posted to Amanda at the bottom of each module OR via public or private message in the Community.
If you are feeling like a course-only Birth Prep is not enough, the Pocket Doula Signature 1:1 Service is for you! We meet on Zoom a few times during your Birth Prep course. I listen & learn about you. I help you make sense of your pregnancy and use your Birth Prep to compile practical plans that are unique to you. This is also the time where I get a pulse for how your Birth Partner is doing in their prep, answer their specific questions and guide them in the ways your family desires them to be ready to advocate and support you as your primary team member.
